From an early age Andrew Hastie has been interested in Railways after being introduced to them by his Father as a young boy and also in having a Great Grandfather who was involved in the construction of the famous Forth Railway Bridge. But it was on discovering the Narrow Gauge Railways of North Wales on a family holiday as a teenager that his lifelong love and interest in anything Narrow Gauge Railways was born.
In 1979 Andrew Hastie turned his passion for Narrow Gauge Railways into a business when he released a small range of 009 Plastic Injection Rolling Stock Kits onto the fledging 009 narrow gauge market. To increase the range of products available to modellers further rolling stock kits and a loco kit were issued in due course and the products from other narrow gauge manufacturers were introduced to increase the range of products available to modellers.
In 1986 Dundas Models was merged into the then new Parkside Dundas Model Railway business where good quality 009 & 00n3 Model Railway kits continued to be released over the years to create the largest range available to modellers in 4mm Scale.
In 2017 on the retiral of his business partner Andrew decided to continue in the business of selling Narrow Gauge Model Railways and the Dundas Models name was re-invented where Andrew will provide the Narrow Gauge Modeller with a friendly and efficient service on a wide range of products including the well-known Parkside Dundas 009 range of kits which will once again be sold under the Dundas Models name.
